Default Gas Station Issue...Just curious

Hello everyone! I have a minor concern about what type of gas to use on the S. I've done the search and read possibly everything I could come across. Unfortunately, I feel as it still isnt very clear to me.

I've recently bought my S about a month ago and have been using BP Ultimate 93 octane. I havent had any problems with it or anything. I dont track but somewhat of a spirited driver.

I've taken a look at the Top Tier List and to my suprise, did not see BP on there. Would you recommend a different gas station? The main gas stations in my area are Shell, BP, and Mobil. I've always thought BP was one of the cleanliest stations around.

Another thing, alot of our gas station states they have 10% ethanol; is that going to be very harmful to my baby? I actually dont believe I've seen any that has zero.
I've read most are using Shell, but would like to know the difference with BP, Shell, or even Mobil. There wasn't to much information given out about BP compared to the other stations. Just curious whats wrong with BP if any.

Any feedback would be very helpful. Thanks in advance

10% ethanol is mandated by the govt and will be in effect nation wide very shortly, if not already already. Connecticut has been on 10% ethanol (E10) for a long time and I have not had a problem. The S2000 can handle 10% ethanol, as mentioned in the owners manual.

I don't think you will have a problem with BP.. I have not heard any bad things. Personally I use Shell 40% of the time and Cumberland Farms 60% (I don't even know what gas is sold there) but only due to convenience. I've heard of more 'bad gas' from Shell than anywhere else, but again, no problems here.

I've only used BP 93 in mine (with a dose of 2oz of FP60 every fill up). No gas related issues or pre-detonation.

Really I'd guess what you're concerned about is the gas not having the required detergents to prevent pre-detonation. I use FP60 from (www.lubecontrol.com) as a fuel additive just to be sure the gas has got enough detergents in it. FP60's is one of the more highly thought of fuel additives over on the BITOG Forums (www.bobistheoilguy.com). You can also run a stronger fuel system cleaner every couple thousand miles. Gumout Regane, Chevron Techron, and Redline SI-1 are all good over the counter cleaners.

i posted something about this in another thread...don't trust that top teir gas bs website..there's no sources...no claim's of ownership on the website..and no companies name anywhere cept the gas stations listed..that website is a crock of shit and your an idiot if you believe it cuz its on the internet....most gas is basically the same. the only thing different is the detergent additives. most places are safe but make sure they are a known brand.

It's all pretty much the same when it comes off the pipeline. The additives go in when the truck is filled up for delivery. Some are better than others but all the major company's premium should be fine for this application.

I'm beginning to think it's best to frequent a station that stays busy so that the premium you buy is in the ground for the least length of time. In lieu of that always buy Chevron or Texaco.

I used BP Ultimate for years. I have an 92 Prelude SI that required Prem. and also own an S 2000.

After BP had the huge oil line rupture in Alaska. I sent BP the following email.

In a period of record high profits, your negligence of your routine maintenance has been remarkable.

You should have used a tiny fraction from your $20 billion stock repurchase program to perform adequate maintenance.

I have purchased BP exclusively for years. In the future I will use Shell V Power...
