Default Got my Resonator removed, Question

I had my resonator removed a couple weeks ago and i had a question on how the guy at the muffler shop did it. The welds are great by the way but just wanted to ask about the way he fitted the pipe. I drew a picture best i can (please dont make fun of it). The stainless pipe that he used i noticed he bent the ends of the pipe in a little using a machine in the back, not by hand which made it smaller (still round though) and placed in the two exhaust pipes, it held up on its own because part of the stainless pipe was inside the exhaust pipes on both ends, and then he welded it up. Did he do it correctly or should he have not bent the two ends a little bit and just try to weld it the way it was? I ask this because im not sure if my exhaust should be sounding the way it does. Wish i had someone around the area that also did the resonator removal so i can compare. Thanks for all who has inputs.

John

Tell us about the sound, you say it doesn't sound like you thought it should?

I have considered this as well. How loud is it? I wouldn't think it would have a drone because the dongle is still in place. It's purpose is to cancel out sound waves at the frequency that causes the drone.

My insert pipe was widened at both ends to fit over the existing pipe to maintain the diameter inside the exhaust flow versus creating a pinch at both ends that you have in yours. The turbulence created by the edges inside your exhaust flow might create an interesting sound.

I'm not hearing much of a drone and sometimes i think to myself that it sounds like a fart can, but much less annoying then the real thing. It reminds me of a cheap azz exhaust off ebay that a ricer would buy, but just not to that full extent.
