grinding going into third

Default grinding going into third

driving into first and second but when i hit 3rd 3 out of 5 times feels like something is blocking 3rd i can get it in but feels like a little force i have to put in. i only have 7 thousand miles on my 0-1 can someone help me out?

Can I assume you "cut the corner" when doing the 2 - 3 shift? That is to say, the direction the stick takes is NOT a diagonal, slanted line. You must go up, then to the right, then up. If you cut the corner, you may get away with it for a little while, then you wear something down and it catches up with you. Eventually, by cutting the corner, you'll snag another shift piece and that's what you feel. Now, you may have to always do the "3 step" shift from 2 to 3.

ps. Have you ever had the clutch fluid flushed and changed in all the time you've had the car? It might be time. This "might" help the alleviate the problem a bit.

Try GM Synchromesh FM fluid. It eliminated my 2nd->3rd notch, if only for 2000 miles.
