i dug this thread up, cause after 11k miles my car has begun to handle a bit "loosely"- especially upon hard braking... at the "edge" of braking (a quick reduction from 100 to 20 for example), it feels like it is about to fish-tail- i first thought i had an a.b.s. problem, but this thread reminded me of the most basics:
check the tire pressure!
