A friend of mine recently added a cold air box kit to his car. A week later he experienced engine noises that should like a loose chain or broken valve lifter. The dealer blames this on the modification or abuse. The car has less than 5000 miles on it.

Has anyone else experienced valve trouble in their S2000 either with or without a air box kit?

but which cold air intake are you referring to? and what kind of upper end problems are you having? describe them as best as you can.

 

he is kinda of stupid for not taking it out before taking it to the dealership.. tell him to put everything back to stock and take it to another dealership.

 

Well, if it sucked in something it should not have - debris in the intake tube that was not cleaned out etc, that may have something to do with it.

Or if water got injested?

 

Sorry, but I share this opinion 100% as well.
