Default Have a few problems with the S...need help!

1st problem- left headlight out
- about 2 months ago my father and I were changing the breaks on the S. When we finished we were going to give the car a drive to test the breaks. I went to go start the car and noticed that the key was left in the on position and the battery drained. So my dad recharded it with one of those portable chargers. The car then proceeded to turn on just fine and i gave the car a good test. But i noticed that the left headlight was off. Since then the headlight stays off when i flip the switch.. however the headlight does flicker before turning off permanently. Is it the bulb thats bad? any ideas?

2nd problem- Weird sound when breaking in neutral.
- In the last month my car has been starting to make this very loud grinding/vibrating sound when breaking in neutral. it mostly happends when im in traffic and have to come to alot of stops. I can feel the vibration at the pedals and the sound is only made if i am going under 20 mph and breaking in neutral. Very weird any ideas?

question # 1 = i have no idea.

question #2 = sounds like you screwed up the brake job. did you install new pads and rotors during the brake job? front and rear brakes or just the fronts? vibration in the pedals usually signals warped rotors. grinding noise could just be the new pads or the pads are not installed properly.

good luck

#1= bad bulb or ballast. my car did the same thing=flicker and then turn off. i took it apart and the light bulb housing cracked somehow and the wire going to the bulb melted. replaced the bulb and all was good.

best way to figure it out is take the hid bulb and if its black its bad. if not, switch it with the oppossite side and see what happens. if its the ballast, i have a set from an 04.

and for my second problem about the breaks....it was not making this sound after the installation....my breaks were just right for atleast a month before this sound/vibratin/griding during neutral braking began to occur.

it's behind the headlight. try switching the bulb w/ right then try switching the balista w/ right.

breaks...
make sure you tighten the screws to correct torque spec. it could be loosen caliper or rotor.

removing the headlights a kind of a PITA due to the need to remove the bumper. once you do that take the headlight off and the bulb is behind a plastic cap.

Look at your light when someone else flips the switch. If it looks red-ish it is most probably is the bulb. The suggestion to try the other bulb is a good one.

Also, if it is the bulb, I would switch out both of them as it is likely the other one is about to go. I suggest searching for Phillips "Ultinon" D2S bulbs and get the best deal you can. The colour is a little bit more blue, and nearly the same price as the OE bulbs.

What type of brakes did you use?
