Default Headlight buzzing and not turning on?

I've read so many threads about people having problems with their headlights not coming on. I can't find any that discuss them not coming on, and instead buzzing for a couple seconds then stopping. My driver-side headlight will not come on and buzzes for a couple seconds. I don't see any color. Is this a sign it's the bulb? Does anyone know a 100% definite answer and has had this problem? My headlights have never been taken apart and there is no condensation.

Swap bulbs side to side to see if the problem moves. If it does, you've got a bad bulb.

A friend of mine had that same problem and it turned out to be a wire in that metal mesh insulation from the ballast had shorted. Might want to try swaping the bulbs first though.

90% of the time, it's a dead ballast. Swap the bulbs....if it fires, then its 100% a dead ballast.

Is there a certain way to tell if the bulb is blown by looking at it?

Nevermind, I'll just swap them.

Update: Bulbs and ballasts are fine. I think it's a short inside the mesh wireloom.

Yep... it was a hole in the wire. It was grounding out.
