Default headlight fuse keeps blowing

I had condensation in my passenger side headlamp and then that headlight stopped working. I had the headlight re-sealed but my headlight still doesn't work. My high beams don't work either. When I try to turn on my headlight, the high beam turns on for a bout 2 seconds then dies, and sometimes the HID light flickers for 2 seconds also. I tried replacing the fuse but it keeps burning out. Does anyone know what the problem is? I want to make sure that its the ballast before I go ahead and buy a new one. Thanks.

Not too sure but have you tried replacing the relay? Again I don't know if this is the case or not, give it a try before you replace the ballast. Let me know if this help.

Is the relay located in the fuse box with the fuse?

Thats a good question, I'm not sure myself cuz I'd never had mess with it. There's only a few place to check so I would say check both, you're bound to find it. Good luck with it though.

Which fuse is blowing? There are 2 for the headlights.

The 20A one in the fusebox under the hood (near the passenger side fender).

Both fuses are 20A and in the main underhood fuse box.

One is for the passenger side head light, the other is for the drivers side. You need to know which one is blowing.

HID headlight assemblies are very sensitive to water. the first thing you should do is to remove the bulb and inspect it. Check to see if there is white or greyish dust on the bulb. I've seen bulbs that short out when they go bad causing the fuse to blow. 10 fuses later you've still gotten nowhere except that the light works for only a split second. Try swapping the bulbs from side to side. I know its not as easy as it sounds but the diagnostic process never is. Its better to figure out what it is and fix it rather than throwing parts at it and be wrong.
