Default Heater blows cold airr

My heaters started to blow air. When I adjust it to the cold air it would blow cold. I let the car warm up to 3 bars, it still blows cold. I checked the fuses under the dash and the relays under the hood. I changed them out with a friends s2000. It still blows not warm. So then we decided to bleed the coolant. So I was told to take off the radiator cap and like the car idle, still nothing. Anybody want to give me insight. its getting cold

First thought would be air in the system but if you've never opened it up in the last while it likely isn't air.

There is a mixing valve on the firewall just near the battery, have someone adjust the temperature knob with the ignition on and see if that valve moves - cable attached to it should push and pull it as the temperature knob is used between hot and cold.

why would you use heater? your wasting gas. all you have to do is turn the knob all the way to max heat and choose that option that lets outside air come inside the car. the heat from engine will warm you up.

how is he wasting more gas? It's not like he's using the A/C compressor. The heat coming from the coolant is already wasted energy from the motor.

make sure the valve switch is actually opening all the way up under the hood when you turn the knob to full heat.

when i did my header, i bent the valve lever and it wasnt opening all the way. worth checking. otherwise id check for air in the coolant system.

I don't have a picture, but look beside the heat shield you will see a rubber heater hose on the firewall near the battery, there is a metal cable coming out of the firewall attached to the mixing valve. When you turn the temp dial from cold to hot it opens and closes the mixing valve. Have someone turn the temp dial and see if that valve is moving via the cable.

If the car temp is getting up to 3 bars (and not going over/under after being warmed up) then the thermostat is fine. They either stick closed (overheating car) or stick open (car never gets to correct temp, usually this is the one that happens) but if he's at 3 bars on the temp, thermostat is good.
