Is the spacing on the keepers ok? Big gap on one side nothing on the other

Spacing is fine, as long as they're at the same height. Turn the engine over a few times to make sure they're seated properly, or use something wooden and a hammer and tap the stem tips(not the retainers).

Yeah, I did hit the tips of the valves everything looks fine I think I'm just paranoid. I did lose one keeper, so I had to use one of the old ones, I really hope it's in the garage somewhere but I can't find it

If you lost a keeper (ap2) and used an old one instead (ap1) on an ap2 retainer, I promise you the valve will break.

I'm curious - why do the two depicted valves stem tops and the two retainers look so different color wise? Is it just the lighting?

There is a distinct 1 degree of taper difference between the two parts. This is why they have different part numbers.

The difference between the two cotters/keepers is near impossible to see by eye.

Take this to the bank...get two new AP2 retainers, and put them in the one valve in question (the valve with the one ap1 retainer)

Absolutly. I am calling Honda now. It was on cyl #2 so it's an easy fix. Do you think I'm OK to drive the car today? I know that. ..on the intake side I did this with the keepers. ap2/ap2. Ap1/ap2.

so technically I only need the 1 that I lost. .. but I'll still order 4 new ones and just redo that cylinder
