Maybe just go down to your local Honda dealer and have them replace the battery?

Do not buy a yellow top. They're known to have crappy quality and why on earth spend $200 on a non-weight savings battery?

A float charger (not a trickle charger) is mandatory for cars that sit for a long period of time.

I bought a Battery Tender float charger and snaked a fused set of wires from my battery down the side of the engine compartment and out the bottom of the front grill. I attached the Battery Tender plug to the those wires and now I can hook up the Battery Tender w/o even raising the hood. When I drive the car I just tuck the charging plug in the grill.

I've done this on several cars for years and it always works very well.

Why would somebody reply to a thread like this after 4 months?

I replied because I had something constructive to add to the conversation.

The bigger question is why did you feel the need to add a useless, condescending reply of no value ??

I bought a yellow top from a member that had an extra five or more years ago and it has been fine. I use a tender on it if I don't drive for a month or so (my tender cables are under the WW blades) and it has never failed me. I like the fact that there is no acid leaks no matter how high the G forces where many conventional batteries will give up some liquid.

Second the Honda OEM battery(mine is a duracell don't know if that's true OEM, but I got it at the dealership), it's surprisingly cheaper than the auto parts store battery, and seems to work just fine.

Unhappy Do Not get an Interstate Battery!

I thought Interstate was my best bet for a quality battery. The first one I had leaked battery acid after about two years. Interstate was decent about it and replaced the battery less than a year ago as well as pay for the incredible damage to my beautiful 2005 baby. She has a total of 20K on it and it is a 2005. I could not believe my eyes when I lifted the hood to see how she looked last week. I was blown away, the corrosion had returned. I immediately thought the paint job was not a good one...preparation, etc. I was not happy when the body shop manager suggested I look at the battery. I said it was replaced about a week before he painted it last spring. He insisted and I lifted the new battery only to find acid once again in the pan! I can't believe that I must go to Interstate once again. I am guessing that the battery seam somewhere is flawed and not sealed properly.

Beware of INTERSTATE battery that fits the S.
