Default hood rattle

For some reason after i got my new motor into my car my hood seems to rattle really really loud.

i just checked around and the sound is coming from where the hood latch's down. (id push in that spot and it would stop, and id pop the hood, not open it all the way, and it would stop.)

anyone know something to stop that? kinda annoying.

thanks in advance

There are 4 rubber stops, 2 at the front corners, 2 mid-way up the sides. Try backing the front ones out a 1/4-1/2 turn, they are threaded. If you get to the point that the hood sits higher than the fenders or front bumper, or you are dropping it from a ridiculous height to get it to close (I drop it from about 12 inches) the stops are backed out too far. In this case you may need to adjust the latch itself but I would not start messing with the latch alignment until you have played with the stops. Also, be careful about pushing down on the hood, it is not intended to be closed that way. Good luck.
