Default Help! Driver Window Problem (electrical)

Would like to know if anyone else has had this problem before I take it to my "friendly" Honda dealer. When I hit the switch to put down the convertible top, my drivers window moves down about 3 inches then stops, while the passenger window goes down all the way. If I continue to hold down the switch, the top will go down all the way along with the passenger window. If I release the top down switch and move it to the top up position, the drivers window continues to go down while the passenger window goes up. Both the driver / passenger power window switch works OK.
I plan to check the connection in the center console, but I doubt that it is the problem.
So, anyone out there experience this one? I have a late year 2000 (serial 8733). Thanks for anyone with their thoughts.

Very common. Mine started around 22k miles or 7 months. My friends S2000 had that problem within a month. It sucks, doesn't it?

Do some searches and you'll find mucho information.

Thanks guys...I've looked through the search function and I guess it is the window motor...time will tell. The car only has 2700 miles on it and this type of problem is a pain.

I've had this problem for the first time yesterday... But it isn't happening anymore. I plan to take in to the dealer anyway.

I have it but only after the car is wet - either washing or raining. It's not really a big deal, I'll get it fixed when I have something more pressing to justify me going in to the local Honda dealer (who I didn't get the car from... )

I had this problem and just before it went into the dealership it stopped doin' it for 2 weeks. And now it's back. The dealership said that they couldn't fix a problem that they couldn't re-create. So, I'm gonna take it back in and it'll start working again, I'm sure. Maybe I should just get it on video tape.

It's not the motor, it's the motor regulator. I had the same problem on my Prelude and a friend of mine has the same problem on her S2000.

My dealer said it was a fairly common thing on Hondas and didn't give me any crap about replacing it. Good luck.

My 2001 started doing this at about 5000 miles. I took it in and it was a regulator. They had to order it and I was without my baby for two days.

Same symptom. Use the roof button and the driver's window would go down about 2 inches. Use the auto feature on the same window, it would go down about two inches. The car has to be running for the problem to occur I believe. With the motor off, mine would work fine. So make sure the car is running when you demonstrate the problem to your dealer. I started feeling pretty stupid when I couldn't duplicate the problem for the guy with the car off.

I just saw this mentioned in another thread. Try: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/

They mention a service bulleton that has gone out regarding this.
