I'm new to this board and still young so i dunno much about the S2k. I'm interested in a 02' S2k but my friend told me that droppin the car would ruin the handling. Does anybody know about anything like this? The S2k is too high stock so i wanna drop it. So i'm wondering if it will ruin it. Neways, thxs for ne help.

No one that I know has had super success with lowering and keeping the handling traits the car originally has. Though most modified stooks on here our lowered like an inch or inch and a half. Do a search for "lowering" and I'm sure you will find lots of help full advice to get you decent handling.

In my opinion "handling" is the most important characteristic of the S2000 and you are wise to undertake lowering it very seriously.
It is imperative to maintain full suspension travel at the lower position. This cannot be accomplished by only adding a lowering spring without changing the shock body. The shocks and springs must work in unison at your new determined lower height. Also, lowering the car will change the plane of steering components such as the steering rack, uprights and control arms - these parts must be realigned to work in unison as well.
So your friend is right and wrong, "droppin' the car will ruin handling" is true if it is done half-ass without addressing the entire suspension, but if done properly the car can be lowered and handling can be vastly improved on over stock performance. While there may be other ways to lower your car successfully, I suggest one avenue is making a phone call to Scott @ King Motorsports (262) 593-2800 to get a knowledgeable opinion on all the "cause and effects" involved in lowering the car. You may determine that it is better to remain stock than invest $4-$5K in a properly tuned suspension.

I cna't address the handling part as my car is not lowered... but trust me, the car is not too high. if you lower the car, you will hit just about every thing on the road and in the parking lot. As it stands stock, the cleanerance is pretty darn low. So becareful in dropping the car.

My car has dropped at least a 1/2 inch since new. I have 7k on it. When my car is side by side to a new stook, it is definitly lower. And fills the wheel wells a lot better.
