Default Help! engine bogs or hesitates

i just recently started having this problem, while cruising around the car starts to bog or hesitate when accelerating.

when it happens there is no or very little power. vtec will still engage, but hte car will not accelerate.

it goes in and out, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't.

if it happens when going from a stop, it feels like someone who doesn't know how to drive stick very well and starts to jerk back and forth.

There is no check engine light on.

o yea, and when in neutral the car can rev freely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The check engine light just came on. it shows the code p0172 (system too rich)

Does anyone know what could cause this problem?

it also has 2 pending codes p0170 and p0128

Thanks in advance for any help!

Sticky throttle? Have you changed your TB recently? Or perhaps a dirty one.

Or could be your cable is slack. Might want to check that out.

i dont think it is the throttle body because when it happens i do not have power when i give it gas. the pedal moves freely so i doubt that it would be sticking closed. i will take a look though. thanks!

nope, i am 100% sure it is not the clutch.

i am pretty sure it is due to a bad sensor or something electrical, non mechanical.

This sounds a lot like the MAP sensor issue some AP1 owners have come across. Try disconnecting/connecting it, might fix it. I had this problem in my old 03, ended up replacing the MAP sensor, which fixed it.

Hi guys i had the same problem once but it was with my 99 integra GSR.

I look and look at forums to see if anyone can crack down the problem but no one can.

So i just drove with it like that for a months until i think i had enough money to fix it.

So i took it to the mechanic!!!! Man he fix right quick for me when i came back from taco bell to pick up the car which was like 30 mins later. HE CHARGE ME 30 DOLLARS AND IT WAS FIX SO THANKFUL.

Try taking to a mechanic.
