HELP: I cant connect steering column to steering rack..
Hi s2ki
Its late at night i know, but i could really use some advice here.
While replacing the clutch i had to disconnect the steering column from steering rack.
Being stupid that i am, instead of doing it easy by just undoing the pinion part in the middle of the column, i completely disconnected it from the steeringrack..
And now i can't put it back. Any tips? Advice?
I can only inser it back into the rack this much. (See pic)
I'd really appreciate any input. Thanks!

Update: i still can't get the torque sensor assembly back into the steering rack.
I've done everything in the manual, but it just refuses to go in all the way..
Anyone have experience putting this torque sensor into the rack? Is it supposed to be this difficult? Or could it be that i bent/damaged the rack/torque sensor assembly...

UPDATE:
I'm pretty sure this kind of issue will be quite rare since I was just being stupid and it was 02:00am..
But in case anyone runs into the same issue, hopefully they will find this post.
To summarize my mistake, I disconnected the steering column from the steering rack by removing the torque sensor assembly from the steering rack. I should've disconnected the pinion side of the torque assembly.
As Ryuu helped out above, after aligning the front wheels dead straight, the alphabet etched on the torque sensor assembly must face 12 oclock. (or toward to sky). Remember, you have to rotate the gear slightly to push it in, so I'd position the alphabet at ~11 oclock angle, then insert it in. It will rotate as it goes into 11:30ish position. This piece, for some reason, won't go all the way in with my hands. I gave up and called the tow truck to tow it to Ballade Sports, since Alex seemed like a very good and trustworthy mechanic. While waiting for the tow truck, I decided to just try to bolt it in and see if it gives.
What do you know! As I bolt the torque sensor assembly into the steering rack, the gear started turning slightly more and sled right into the rack!
I hope this helps anyone who makes the same mistake as I did.
