Default Help! Installed 3.5 inch intake; car bogs

Hello, I'm fairly new to the forums but i tried researching it on s2ki and 8thgen civic but i havn't got a specific answer to my problem. I recently had a comptech intake that I just removed because I didn't really like it so after some research I bought 3.5 inch mandrel bent aluminum pipes(2) with a 45 degree bend along with a vibrant velocity stack. I have an 06 s2k so it has the VSA. When I removed the fuse so i can have the computer relearn the car with the addition of the intake, the car started pretty weak(boggy). My VSA light came on and so did the little triangle with the exclamation mark in it.

I revved the car but it only goes to 3k max, then the car backfires like a gun shot. It kept doing that so I figured I'll just turn it off. Has anyone ever experienced this issue in regards of doing a custom intake or is it just me? I heard in the 8th gen civic that when they installed the hybrid racing intake, also a 3.5 inch intake, it bogs until you get a tune, not sure if it applies to his as well since i haven't seen a person with the same issue.

Btw, my other mods is a plm header, 70mm test pipe, and a berk 3 inch exhaust with flashpro coming in the mail tomorrow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it's the backup fuse underneath the footwell. Its just another way of restarting the computer as opposed to taking out the negative terminal of the battery for 10 minutes.

If the car wont rev past 3k it sounds like a limp mode. Is there a CEL on, if so what does it say? Have you tried resetting the ecu again from the battery terminal? too much effort to pull the fuse when a 10mm socket is right there in the engine bay lol

Also, did you pull the correct fuse? none of this should effect the vsa

Do you make sure to install the IAT sensor in whatever piping you have for your custom intake? If you did, check the connections and make sure the pigtail is secure. I've gotten a CEL from that before.

Slowd16 is right - the car is in limp mode, which could be a bunch of different things. Use your flashpro unit and pull the CEL code and we'll probably be able to help you a lot better.

Thanks guys for all the responses, what i just did was remove all the sensors(MAP and IAT) and cleaned it and reconnected. I was lucky enough that it worked lol. Everything is running fine now, all there's left is to wait til the snow melts so I can FINALLY take this car out of the garage.

Again, thanks for the help

You should get that bad boy tuned, get a before and after. I bet you'll pick up a ton of power with that intake after a solid tune.
