Default Help...issue at start up

So the other day I went to take the S the work and started her up, right after the engine started there was a quick loud grinding noise almost like you turned the key on a normal car after it was already running. I took my DD that day instead and changed the oil that night just in case. Put new oil in and started the car...all was good. Drove the car for 2 days no issues. Then this morning it did it again. I park in the garage and I will say it was by far our coldest night since like March (FL weather) both mornings I had the issue. Any ideas? Thanks!

Eh.. No worries here. Mine has been doing the same as the weather gets colder. I've done a bit of research and it seems like the norm noise for our starters to make when it starts getting cold outside.

Looks like u guys got a sticky starter. Overtime the small gear in the starter tat sticks out to rotate the flywheel, gets a lot of buildup dirts or debris n it stays stick out longer than usually n cause it to grind against the flywheel as it retracks back. Its normal.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine has been doing this for 4 years and 50k miles. It goes away completely in the warn months. Once it starts gettting colder it will grind. I have figured out just the right time to let off the ignition and I can keep it from grinding 80% of the time.
