Thumbs down HELP ME! I think my engine is dying

the smell of fuel is so rich when i start it... more than the usual that I know is normal.

the car had clicking/tapping noises (probably valves) but I never paid much attention to it... I dont think i've ever misshifted or overrevved. Recently I bought a comptech intake and after the install and rest of ECU I drove around for a couple of spins; later the clicking noise was gone but then wierdly replaced by the 'clunking' noises in the engine as i described... first starting with CEL light. I checked and rechecked the vacuum hoses that supposedly would be an issue, but everything is in order.

My car is still under warranty till 2/30/05 or 36000 miles, which ever comes first... I'm thinking about taking it in... what do you guys advise? I really appreciate it...

Is there something easy I'm over looking... does it sound like i've accidently adjusted or losened something on my car (i really dont think thats the case cause I did drive it around w/ no problems)... any advise would help. Thanks!

hopefully loose debris hasn't gotten into the throttle body when everything was apart.

Pull the code. That will give you the first hint as to what might be going on. The intense fuel smell is coming from where? It could be an indication of many things - bad injectors, misfire, bad plugs, bad cat, bad ECU, bad MAP. The clunking could be timing related, could be a sign that a main bearing is about to grenade. Really hard to tell.
GET THE CODE.

definetly do that, the car's under warranty ONLY if it stays stock.

the attitude varies from dealer to dealer. i had a dealer replace my GSR engine even with an intake and header. On the other hand, some have had warranties denied for little things.

do it to be safe anyway.
