Default Help new AP2 owner VSA AND TRIANGLE (!) lights on

So bought recently 2009 black on black AP2 S2K. Took a gamble and feel I might have lost as the triangle light with exclamation mark (!) was illuminated. Was lead to believe front right abs sensor was reason. Bought a new one and no such luck to have the light go out. THEN today driving normally the VSA light illuminated. I thought I would see if anyone has any guidance before I break down and take it to a dealer. Thanks in advanced to anyone’s input.

The first thing to check is to make sure the air pressure in all 4 tires is set exactly to what the sticker on the door jam says.

If one is low, it can cause the lights to turn on.

Or if the tires are different brands in the same size or different sizes, the difference in diameter causes the wheels to not turn are the same rate which causes the lights to go on. (Obviously the two fronts should be the same and the two rears the same)

After you check that and drive it a couple of miles, if the lights are still on, then you’ll have to dig deeper—maybe some others who had the same issue will chime in

Sometimes that comes up if debris gets somewhere in the braking system. When I did a few donuts at Thunderhill Raceway a few years ago, they came up. It goes away after driving a while once it clears out from the motion of the wheels.

Thank you guys the one front tire was low by 3 psi and I fixed that and the VSA turned off. Really happy about that. As far as the triangle light still on. YES I have “googled” it probably have read over 200+ pages between here and other webpages. I spend at least 2 hours a day looking into how to solve this best as I am afraid taking to dealership and going on a wild expensive goose chase. Any and all help is again very much appreciated as it already helped me with my VSA light. I am new to s2k territory but have owned 30+ Honda’s, so I am not new to the car game or Honda scene just so everyone has some background on me and my history.

Don't forget to check the valve clearance and perform the rear axle nut re-torque.

I hooked an OBD2 diagnostic tool to my S2000 to see what it could see and unintentionally disabled VSA causing the same lights on the dash. I managed to get them reset somehow. I think I had to resort to a paperclip and grounding some pins at the port. Haven't touched that diagnostic tool again! There should be instructions in the maintenance manual. Link is here (somewhere). Use the manual that covers the late cars, not the bikini clad model on the cover.

Just stumbled upon this thread. I have a 2007 S2K and in June I had the exclamation VSA triangle light stuck on as well (after having my CAT replaced). I took it to Honda and they hooked up to their Honda diagnostics computer. The diagnostics suggested the tech do a neutralization procedure, which he did and the light went away and stayed away. It just recalibrates some sensors. Might want to look into that. It took the tech five minutes.

What did they charge if you don’t mind me asking? Diagnostic fee? I just don’t want to get bent over. Thanks for your info!
