Default HELP PLEASE Companion flange

Anyone know how to pull the companion flange nut off? Its the part that the propeller shaft bolts to on the back of the tranny! I need to get it off to swap the one on MY00 tranny to MY04 tranny!
Thanks
Fadi

You have to un-stake the nut. Then use an impact to remove it. This is not a job for hand tools. The nut needs to be at 180 ft lbs (Check Helms, Number is rough) so you will need to find something to hold the flange still while you torque it. I used old bolts and a big pry-bar.
