Arrow Help Smoke....

I got my S2000 about 3 weeks ago and figured i would do some upgrades. It smoked a little bit when I Reved the motor. I installed a Neuspeed exhaust with test pipe and Denso irridium Plugs. I also ran a fuel treatment and a motor flush and changed the oil to 10-30 Royal Purple Full synthetic. after all that I got a small amount of greyish blue smoke(OIL). Then yesterday It didnt smoke at all for the whole day and toward the end of the day i was getting off the highway to go home and all of a sudden it started blowing huge clouds of oil smoke.... everytime i got it above 3krpms it was so bad i couldnt see behind me. I pulled into my garage where I turned the motor off and now im here what can i do? I plan on checking to make sure that the plugs were put in strait and not leaking but you would think that if they were off or not tight it would smoke all the time?

If you're smoking that badly I think plugs are the least of your worries. How does the engine sound? Has the car been run low on oil? I'd start with simple things like checking your PCV valve (or just replace it with a new one and see if the problem goes away).

Well since I have had it the oil has stayed pretty constant. After i got home yesterday I noticed that I was a quart low.It was fine when i changed my oil. I dont know how the dealership will handle my car since I was the one doing the work I have a warranty on the drivetrain. Maybe they will just put a new one in also the PCV valve is brand new they replaced it at the dealer last week. I took it in because my guage cluster was dimming and getting brighter ... found out that the alternator had an open diode and had to replace that.... I tried to tell them the motor smoked a little but when i was there it didnt smoke at all lol.

Also I have a small tick in the head I think is where its coming from.... I think it may need a valve adjustment or its an injector sound...... Im not sure .... the car only has 15k miles on it..... i dont know why it would need work unless the previous owner ragged it.... ohh also when i was at the dealer they put it in the air and told me that the motor had been worked on because there was new sealant around the oilpan....

I would be suspicious of the PCV that they installed. Is it OEM? I've seen lots of posts about people installing a OEM style PCV valve from a generic auto parts store and having the valve never work properly. Make sure the valve is a Honda OEM part.

I wouldn't take the car in with the mods that you've installed. That's an instant excuse for them to decline any warranty work on your car. If the oil loss is as bad as you claim (1qt in a few days) then there is some issue that needs to be addressed. My advice would be to return to stock until this clears up if you plan on getting the dealer to stand behind the car.

Yea thats what I was thinking also... but would it possibly be the PCV valve causing the smoke? Im not sure how it works..... Also when i was at the dealer they told me that a CAI and exhaust would NOT void my warranty... other than those 2 items I just have Neuspeed suspension and the Denso plugs.... arent those relatively small mods that everyone does?

Can't say that people put in Denso plugs. Typically the only people who change plugs are running forced induction. General concensus is that the stock OEM plug if far and away the best choice unless a different heat range is required becuause of tuning.

THe dealer can deny your extended warranty for any reason, anytime. If you want to take that chance, go for it

Yea I understand that the dealer can deny my warranty which is why im going to put all the stock intake back on before i go it. The exhaust they really shouldnt say anything about its a nice exotic sounding exhaust. Its not loud at all. But if anyone knows what the PCV valve does or how it works that might be helpful. Will it cause the motor to smoke?

I dont really see how a bad PCV would cause it to smoke that much
