Default Help weird sound after changed spark plugs

My engine light showed up a few days ago. And I took the car to a shop to check it. And they said it’s spark plugs problem. So they changed all four spark plugs. Engine lights was gone. But I feel weird about the engine sound when my gear is in nature. The sound just like the spark plugs been changed before. Suddenly big and suddenly small. And I don’t want to drive it back to them. It’s too far a way. Please help

Presumably you had a misfire code? the sound started after the shop changed the plugs is what I'm understanding?

If plugs aren't tightened to proper torque spec, they can come loose. If this happens, it can cause detonation. This is what we worry you are hearing.

Because this will soon cause spark plug tip to break off, which will then destroy that cylinder. It will destroy your engine!

That is why you should check to make sure plugs did not come loose.

Honda realized that their original torque spec for how much to tighten tbe spark plugs was not enough. So they changed it, and made it higher. If the shop found the old spec, and went by that, this would he your problem.

So not only make sure the plugs are now tight, but also make sure they are tight enough.

The old spec was 13 ft/lb (17.6 nm)

The new spec is 18 ft/lb (24.4 nm)

But the most well respected S2000 mechanic in the world suggests to use 24 ft/lb (32.5 nm)

Broken spark plug thread @ 25lb: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un.../#post21345758

Maybe stick with the updated OEM values or somewhere inbetween?

Nevermind, Billman broke them @ 80lb

Does the rpm change when you hear the sound?
Do you only hear it around the engine or also at the end of the exhaust?
What fuel are you using?
The car was fine before the check-engine light came on?
We're talking about the check-engine light and not the oil pressure light, right?
Anything happened before the check-engine light came on?
Did the shop tell you the error code?
