^Its true the OEM is best, but DDM tuning apparently gives lifetime warranty on their ballasts and bulbs. I have reverse HIDs in my car, and I abuse it. HIDs arent meant to be flashed on/off, they have to be allowed to "warm up" after striking. Since its in my reverse lights, they're constantly on/off on/off. Still going strong!
what size did you use?

OEM is the only way to go with HID equipment. All aftermarket HID kits and parts are absolute junk. Even if they offer some kind of magic "lifetime" warranty, it's still garbage. Would you rather deal with pulling out a failed aftermarket ballast every year or so and dealing with having to send it out and get a new one or buying OEM and having it last 10 times as long? And if money is an issue, just grab one off Ebay, there's always a bunch of OEM ballasts on there for cheap.

Then technically you cant argue or debate that it's wrong to replace the oem with after market ones. Cause not every ballast sold on eBay where out of salvaged or junk vehicles. But people who replaced their systems with aftermarket ones. Lol. So, for those who only prefer or consider OEM is the best way to go. Be happy and endorse others to sell off their system! Am I right?

What?

OEM is the only way to go with HID equipment, hands down. Just search around on other car forums and see all the failures/fires/electrical nightmares people get from cheap ricer kits and components and you'll see what I'm talking about.

First of all I am not going into another debate about oem vs aftermarket. But will state the obvious. If oem is ultimately the best then why is there after market products? I don't disagree the craftsman ship of tge oem hid is hands down fantastic. But obviously, not matter if tge unit was plated with diamonds or made of solid gold I personally chose to get rid of it as so many others. It's a matter of opinion. Hey there's nothing wrong if YOU chose oem. But what are you going to do when oem supplies are not available? Got withou head lights? Desperately search for salvage car? Ya know the OEM hid system is not even a Honda product but Mitsubishi, right? So are you going to get a compatible part from another oem provider? Eitherway, ya don't need to continuously point out that oem is proven to better. Because its a matter of opinion? Have you stuck with the sepcified oem rims? Are we not allow to customize our cars? Maybe you should rephrase your statement to, " IMO I preffer oem due to all my personal research. So I recommend sticking to oem."
See how much that statement doesn't make you sound negative? I do humbly appoligize if I offend you or anyone. Just this us why some of us seemed not to get along. And rather helping each other, we attack each other. We all love these cars. That's why we go to tge extent to post and share our passion and hobby. Not everyone's going to like 100% what someone might do. But there is not reason to be mean about it, right? I also accept that fact you don't have to agree a single word I say. But I am not mad about it. That's what makes us all different. It's all good my friend.

Chill man, I wasn't attacking anyone. I am merely trying to help people on this board. One of the biggest topics of mis-information on car boards I see is HID lighting and tech and I like to help people out with this topic. I have about 6 years of experience with HID lighting and building custom HID retrofits and I can provide solid recommendations based on what I know. With saying that, I will stand by what I said 100%. Yes, OEM ballasts can be a little hard to find used but a brand new one only costs $150. I see guys on here spend over $200 on hood struts. It's all relative but I am just trying to make a point, it's not that bad. The biggest problem here too is that ALL cheap kit ballasts would be a downgrade in quality, durability, and even safety. Do you really think those cheap ballasts are designed and produced to the same quality as OEM and tested in the same way? I'm pretty sure Mitsubishi puts a little more R&D into their products than that cheap ballast you just bought from Taiwan. Use what you want though, I am merely just trying to help.

Because the OEM S2000 headlight system in your car is one of THE best HID systems ever designed
the aftermarket systems you can buy on Ebay are for cars like older civics, integras and preludes with incandescent bulbs for low beams
you can upgrade an incandescent system to HID with a cheap Ebay kit and even then you really need a projector to focus the beam and be street legal
if you stick a cheap Ebay kit in the S2000 it really is a downgrade from OEM
