Default High Clutch Engagement

My car has 2800 miles on it and the clutch seems to engage VERY high. It catches all the way at the top and has since I purchased the car new. I have had my clutch fluid changed at the dealer already so i don't think there is air in the lines. Is high engagement normal?

No, it should engage beginning about 2 to 3 inches off the floor. It sounds to me like your clutch pedal was never set right from the factory. You should take it back to the dealer and get them to look at it and have them adjust the pedal rod that pushes against the master cylinder piston.

Thanks xviper, you always have the answers! I hope that is all that it is.

Hold on! Your's is not the same situation. Your car is not brand new. You can't just take advice that was meant for another situation.
You should begin with a clutch fluid bleed first. If that doesn't change anything, then you must consider that perhaps your clutch is worn down to some extent with 33K miles on it. Messing with that rod may just be masking some other problem and could make things far worse for you.

xviper... i am in the same position.. 38k kms on the car.. high engagement point and all fluids changed at 36k .. clutch does not feel to be slipping at all even on the top gears.. given the above facts, would you recommend changing the clutch point now?

thanks in advance

Given that you've changed the fluid and indicate that the clutch is not slipping (I'm going by your say-so on this), then sure, give the clutch rod an adjustment to try and move the friction point closer to the floor.
You'll find the lock nut and rod at the top of the clutch pedal. Only turn 1/2 turn at a time, then go test it out. Remember which direction you turned it in case you went the wrong way.
