Default High compression question?

Hey guys....I have a MY00 AP1 and my Motor was tapping due to piston slap....it scored the walls so I'm planning on sending it to inline pro and have the block redone with mahle pistons.,.I wanna go high compression and was wondering of the 12.5:1 compression pistons are a risk or do I have to upgrade or look out for anything in specific...the car is taken out maybe 2-3 days a week but I still wanna know If this setup is capable of being daily drive....comment...advice and opinions are very appreciated thanks

just a curious question - at 12.5:1, where do you buy gas? I don't think 93+ octane is enuf to support that compression ratio without having the ECM dial back ignition based on the knock sensor going nuts.

Its fine on 93 octane as long as the timing isnt crazy aggressive.

With a good tune 12.5 on pump gas is achievable.
