for a Honda Dealership
I already discovered they charge significantly higher than normal on parts. Labor wise, they charge $104/hour. does that seem high compared to others? the dealership is located in northeast Florida if it makes a difference. Also, there isn't another dealership locally, so not much competition. thoughts?
There's some dealerships that operate off of a matrix labor system and basically for example it may start at $115 for the first hour and max out at $135 at 15 hours. So the price of labor increases in iota increments per hour of job.
I think $106 is pretty fair from my experiences for a dealership labor rate.
Note: you might be able to work a deal with the adviser or manager to do $100 flat or $95 to get the job approved.

Labor rates and shop charges have crept up substantially over the years (rate was $65 in '99, now $110) but unfortunately skills (especially regarding the S2000) have dropped. At the dealership closest to me the level of knowledge and experience regarding my car is so poor I walked out regarding wheel bearings and transmission replacement. They ask retail for parts and have to order them, have no idea about S2000 repairs, and warranty repairs for only 90 days. I will now just take the time to do it myself.
Wow i had no clue what labor was these days..In my area i remember about 5 years ago Toyota and Honda dealers were charging 70-90 an hour, and i thought that was insane. Thank god I either do everything myself or with the help of knowledgeable friends. I could never afford those rates
