Hondata ECU
UL I see your point with the programming of the ECU. Did AEM ever get a good base map with all of those things programmed in?
Am I living in a dream world if I think I can buy an AEM EMS, install a base map, then dyno tune some A/F and timing, and drive off into the sunset?
I am cheering for Hondata. They actually would come on the board and contribute in the beginning. Explaining just how hard it would be to crack our ECU. They were very honest and told us that they would be focusing on the RSX (more lucrative pastures) and hoped that those roads would lead them to an ECU for the S2K.

OK, that makes sense...just the sheer number of I/O points to worry about. It sounds like the AEM route is the way to go, assuming they can provide a good base map to work from. If not, then it would take longer than the average person's patience to set up.
The AEM EMS's base map works fine. The first thing you should realize however is that the base map is merely to get the EMS system to the point of being tunable - easily. I wouldn't recommend driving around on the base map and expecting everything to work as it would with a stock car.
The EMS is an awesome alternative to what you guys have discussed here. I love it.

hytech is building turbo for rsx...and they say, they are also working with hondata to build ecu to match with their Turbo.....AEM EMS..you can work it with FI..hondata programed....won't do you any good if you decided to FI your car in future
If our ECU is the last old style (OBD-II), would it be possible
to run an adapter harness and run a B-series ECU (say like OBD-1
P72) and then use Hondata Datalogger and tune it from there?
Hondata only can modify OBD-1 ECUs as of right now (except
the RSX chip), but they can not disable the immobilizer. (Even
the RSX guys have to send their immobilizer unit when they
let Hondata chip their ECU) Say, if you have a 1996+ Integra,
you'll still need a OBD2-OBD1 harness and run a OBD1 ecu
and run the Hondata. Can our S2000 do that?
