Default Hondata intake gasket

Is it safe to run the hondata intake gasket on the S2000 with no additional mods? I did a search & it seems that the guys running this mod have also upgraded to a cooler thermostat, radiator cap., & fan switch. Do i need to do the thermostat & radiator cap upgrade in order to run this intake gasket

No. The Hondata gasket will work by itself.

Cool, one more question if you don't mind, have their been any negative issues with switching to this intake gasket? So far in my search it seemed that everyone was happy with this mod

There have been some problems. Some owners from the Texas club have said that the bolts on many of the intake manifolds have loosened after the gasket installation. Someone had coolant leak into the head but it was never explained how this happened. It is recommended that you use locktite on the the bolts before reinstalling the manifold. Some of the Texas owners can expand on all this.

I have had the gasket on for 3300 miles. I was the first that to use lock tite on the installation and the bolts have not moved. Marcucci installed my gasket and he also made the gasket himself, another first to use a home made gasket from materials that were ordered from US plastics. Again no problems.

Bolts backing out has been the draw back, either bolts backing out or the hondata gasket is shrinking, which leads to coolant usage, very small coolant usage.

I just auto-x yesterday, ran the car very hard and no problems, actually I have auto-x the car 3 times since installation and no problems.

I have the following cooling mods, spoon stat, switch, and denso iridium ik24's one notch cooler than stock plugs. The car runs in 90+ degree weather as it does early in the morning before 3 bars on the stat. I count the AEM CAI as a cooling mod for the intake. That is my opinion.

I just ordered one of these. 4-6 weeks for delivery, then I have to get a mechanic to install it. Probably give him that link to save him a bit of time (and hence, me money).

Unfortunately, I am also going to be installing an Injen air intake at the same time, so I don't know how much HP will be from the insulator and how much from the intake.

I might just pay the extra money for an extra dyno run just to see. Depends how much he wants to charge me. If I can get a dyno graph of one of them, would anyone here be able to post them for me? (No web hosting)

You are not going to see any hp increase on a dyno using the gasket. It is intended to keep the heat from entering the intake manifold which can decrease hp.
