Actually, you might just be able to. The resonance is an effect of the tubing size and length leading from the TB to the air filter. How do they eliminate it in the airbox? One, there are some changes of direction which help mask the sound by reflection, but the airbox also acts as a resonance chamber. Many modern cars, including Hondas, will have a small resonance chamber attached to the intake tube (from airbox to TB). It usually taps into the tube with a hole about 0.5-1" in diameter and is basically a small, unusually shaped plastic container.
If you're willing to drill a modest sized hole in your intake tube (I'm not!) you could start plugging different sized soda bottles into them and see if any removed the noise. Might be a fun experiment, although ultimately not of much use :-)

I dont think the airbox lid means dick on the dragstrip either. I ran a 14.785 with it on and a 14.630 off. Although the argument is related to bogging down and at the strip you are always in Vtec. On the street it seems a little boggier probably more due to heat than anything. I am going to cram my airbox full of ice at the track next time and stick the lid on until I am ready to run. I will just lay a bag of ice over the intake manifold. My intake tube seemed to get extremely hot and didn't cool for over 30 minutes.
