I just did this mod today. I added one under the center console so I could plug in my XM and then put one of these in the passenger footwell. These mods will come in handy for WTD.

^Great idea using that panel.

I was interested in hard-wiring the gps in my pickup truck a few months ago and after some research I found that there's actually a step transformer in most gps' 12v plug (that's my many are so big). I ended up wiring a 12v outlet inside the dash and just plugging the gps power cord into it, so the gps wouldn't get to high voltage. Not much room in the s2000 but I might do the same thing and just find a way to mount the outlet behind the panel shown above.

Thank you for putting the pictures back up! What a great help. I am thinking about doing this today! The only thing I am not too sure about is the power source portion.

What is the easiest way to cut a hole in the panel without making the plastic crack?

I got lucky w/ a "speed-bore" bit.
