How to change a reverse light bulb?

Do I have to pop off the carpeting in the trunk to get inside the taillight to change my reverse bulb or do i just pop off the platic cover on the side of the taillight (black plastic piece)?? thanks in advance

all u have to do is move the carpeting thats all.

pull the carpet back, it should only take like 30 seconds to do
