You do know that cleaning the idle valve is not the cure? The small electrical motor must be removed from it and the valve should be spun many times. You can't spin the valve with the electrical motor attached (hence why it has to be removed). Simply making sure it is spotlessly clean won't achieve much.
If it's causing too much grief maybe take it to a mechanic.

I should also note, he does not replace the rubber gasket, but at your mileage, you should 100% replace the gasket. OEM part # 36461-PAA-A01

Don't cut corners on this car, it's Japanese precision at its finest and doesn't like being treated like an old MG or Mustang and will throw up on you if you do.

i did everything apart from unscrew the solenoid from the back as i didn't have the correct torx 5 pointed driver i have it back off now have ordered a new gasket and will remove the solenoid and spray with electrical cleaner ive also ordered a new map sensor but have already sprayed up the tube of the old with electrical cleaner as i sprayed it last time with carb cleaner (therefore i might of damaged it)
symptoms before map removal and cleaning of the idle control valve the car was hunting for revs when cold but was stable warm at 900 revs
so i thought the hunting revs maybe a clogged map sensor so thats when i cleaned it out with the carb cleaner
then i had a leak from one of the hoses on the icv which bought the esp light on and the cel then it was in limp mode
so i fixed the leak clip wasn't far enough down.
started again and the cel was still on and in limp mode no esp light appeared.
i also cleaned the pcv valve on the rocker cover but i imagine that wouldn't effect the cel coming on.
so ive determined ive borked the map sensor i may be wrong but thats the only things ive fiddled with.
if that does fix it theirs still the instance of the hunting revs which i dont know if ive fixed that or not.

I'd suggest getting a code reader to see what your car is complaining about at this point. When spraying carb cleaner and electrical cleaner did you allow it to completely get bone dry before starting the car (so it doesn't suck in droplets of carb cleaner or other liquids from the channel?) What about that seaant stuff you used, did any of it get sucked in as well?

So much guess work right now... get a code reader, they are very helpful. Not sure how UK / EU does it, but I I got a cheap OBD2 plugged in and downloaded an app on my smart phone. In the US any auto store will have a reader and gladly pull all the codes for you and reset them for free.
