Default How difficult is it to remove OEM front swaybar?

I have a gendron swaybar on order that should arrive soon. How difficult is it to remove the OEM part and do I really need the Helms manual to do it properly? Or is it fairly intuitive just by looking at the part?

It's not a difficult swap. You will need to remove a plastic panel under the front of the car and then mount and end-link bolts. To get the end links off, you'll need a hex and box wrench (I forget which sizes). Does the Gendron bar use the OEM mounts or does it come with its own?

Also, I've heard that early iterations of the G-bar had interference problems between the blade ends and some suspension component on some of the settings.

I believe the Gendron has its own mounts. Interference problems were with aftermarket shocks; I don't think clearance was an issue with stock suspension.

5mm hex wrench & 14mm spanner are needed, BUT you may have to cut the links as the nuts can sieze (i think you say freeze) onto the studs.

Oddly enough only a 14mm socket wrench was needed to remove the end link from the suspension arm. Maybe I was fortunate.

Gendron makes three different sway bars (1/8" wall, 1/4" wall, solid bar) and are adjustable to boot. I have the 1/4" wall which is rated at 25-100% stiffer than stock depending on which hole you use. Dunno about Comptech's.
