How do you check timing
On the crank pulley's rear lip, there are some marks (one is red). On the engine behind the top of the crank pulley, is a pointer. After warm up, in neutral at the proper idle speed, the red mark should line up with the pointer when a timing light is attached to the #1 ignition coil wire. If the timing is not at the red mark (5 degrees +/- 2 degrees) you replace the ECU.
I just went to have a look.
With the Vortech on, NO, the pointer is not visible. The blower is in the line of sight.
And NO, I have never checked my timing as I've never suspected there was a need.
If you look at the crank pulley that you took off when you put the supercharger on, you'll see the marks. The pointer is where the mark would be at the 12 o'clock position.

It may be worthwhile to make a new pointer and make new marks on the pulley where it is visable. I'll look into it.

I've tried the mirror trick before but no luck with the vortech brackets.
You can remove no 1 spark plug.
Put a long straw or something clean in there. Rotate the engine until TDC. Mark your supercharger pulley + engine, in a easily accessible location.
Adjust the idle timing with the AEM ems to 0. Calibrate it with the spark light. Then readjust the idle timing back to 5-6 deg.
Hope that help.

Phil, you'll have to make another timing hash on the block and pulley about 90 degrees to the right of the orig marks. I used a center punch to scribe a line on the block and pulley. I then used yellow paint on the new marks.
