Default how much oil to add

i just changed the oil (mobile 1 synthetic) 2 days before taking the long trip, and did a maintenance inspection. the car was in good standing to take the trip.

i just drove about 2500 miles in the past 4 days, and i checked the oil level just now. the dip stick marked my oil level is on L, and i was thinking how much oil i should add to make it optimal again? or should i just get the oil changed again?

Just add one quart Mobil 1 to bring it up to H. Synthetic is good for more than 5k miles up to 10k miles. You should check oil level at least every day on a long trip.

No need to change it at this time. The L on the dip stick is approximately on quart down from full. Put in 1/2 quart and check. Fill and check as necessary.

spell check dun't work. I dun't know if that's how to spell approximately.

you spelled it right.

and yes, at the L mark is 1 quart low. at the bottom of the dipstick is 2. beyond that, well, don't ever let it get to that point.
