Default Humming, whining noise..

Hey guys i just recently bought Daveizzle's 2006 S2000. I've noticed that there's a slight humming/whining noise when i drive from a stop. I can notice it even more when the clutch is in and when i'm decelerating to a stop. it almost sounds like a metallic hum. I've done a lot of research on the forums and i'm getting that it's either the rear diff or clutch. i'm more confused than when i started, haha. can anyone give any insight on this?
it was just kind of something i shrugged off at first but now its starting to worry me.
thanks
kunal

You are probably just hearing the normal gear and throw out bearing whine.

if your car is in neural with the clutch depressed (quiet ) and then letting the clutch out it starts than its the throw out bearing , mine does that , the car does not have to be in gear or move at all .
