Dieselpilot is fairly new memeber, only 51 days and his S is 2005 which is new too. You already came up with one of the best mods for the S. We need some fresh minds like you on the board. If the price is reasonable, you have a hot selling mod in your hand. You may want to patent the design to prevent copycats.

Naw, not going to keep hashing this out. I just think we're emphasizing different points.
Another issue may be that some people who have bought "snorkels" and AEMs lately may feel that this product may be slamming those other ones. AT NO TIME has anyone done this. The front "snorkel" does its thing and so does the AEM. We all know what the AEM type can do. I was merely pointing out some of the differences (and some pros) between the "side" snorkel and the front one. Noone should feel that their mod is being slighted in any way. You guys should not be feeling so insecure. There are many, many owners who would like to keep the stock airbox, get rid of the heat ingestion AND not have to do any airguide surgery.
its fine...I guess I'm just seeing what looks to be the good things of this "mod" in my own mind. And yes, I agree that if somebody has recently spent money on something else that they might down this. I hope I'm not coming across that way.

In response to #1...do you think the change in cross sectional area really makes much of a difference with a snorkle. There is such a large cavity behind it creating a much lower pressure. Thus, Bernoulli's principle, and the venturi effect. The air that is traveling through that small area will speed up and probably cool, and pressure should go up. Meaning close to the same volume of air is still getting through.
I believe that Bernoulli's principle/Venturi effect does not apply here.

If the portion of the snorkel after the restriction were the same dimentions, or smaller, all the way to the engine- then air speed would be increased and maintained - but the dimentions are larger (again) immediately after the restrictive portion- which will decrease the air speed and cause increased turbulance.

Thus, the restrictive portion of the snorkel is just that.

I'm in. I sit in bumper to bumper traffic for 10 minutes just before a 100 zone every day and every day I curse heat bog.

Guys, This IS NOT A GROUP BUY. If it turns into one, the thread will be locked. Please keep it that way so I am not forced to lock the thread.

I'd rather keep this inovative product on the forum.
