No it's definately a buzz... I shouldn't have said rattle isn't just hard to describe. It's more like a buzz/whining sound that get's quieter as the rpms drop. Say I'm in 2nd gear accelerating and reach around 4k rpms, if I immediately let off the gas the buzz occurrs all the way down to 1 or 2k rpms and is loud enough to hear over my stock exhaust. It's starting to get pretty annoying since this is my daily driver. Do you this this would warrant a repair by the dealer? The car is under warranty. Also, do you think I should bring a copy of the TSB just in case?

the TSB 054 only applies to the 00~01 models.
They should know immediatly if you tell them you have the clutch buzz.

I have a buzz just like that. Found out it was the baffles inside the resinator that broke of the welds.. So it vibrates around in there.

Anyone here getting that buzzing at idle and while the car is moving from behind the passenger seat, and under the converible top tray? Like it is coming from inside compartment housing the spare tire?

I pulled out my spare tire and the buzzing is still there. I can hit the bottom of the convertible top try from inside the spare tire compartment to cause the buzzing sound. And it comes from deep down somewhere...

I've been getting that loud "tinny" rattle between 3.5-5krpm for almost a year now on my '02. It all started about a month after I put Spugen dual oval exhast. Rattle gets so loud and annoying particularly while I drive along the wall, even makes me shift before 3k or after 5k. It's definitely coming from underneath, not from the engine/headers area. Crawling under the car and shaking exhaust out revealed nothing

os2,

I finally located the buzzing, rattling, sound. It was coming from the passenger side roll hoop where the seatbelt disappears behind.

I gave the molding area a good wack and the sounds went away!

Funny you mentioned this. My car has the exact same symptoms. I don't have the heatshield for the exhaust on the car anymore. I think it is either coming from the clutch/flywheel. It buzzes on both acceleration and deceleration and when free reving.

Well I just got back from the dealership. I had the rear clicking TSB done. The axle no longer pops when engaging the clutch. As for the buzzing noise, I had a hole in my exhaust. The exhaust was about to split in half at the mid-hanger behind the cat. The solution was to weld the exhaust back together and add a flex pipe between the cat and the mid-hanger. The buzzing seems to be gone.
