I hear a lot of people say that an exhaust upgrade really doesn't do much for performance but that intakes (particularly the AEM CAI) does help performance...

So should I just get intake and bypass the exahaust altogether? Or maybe just intake and headers?

I noticed more of a power gain with my exhaust than I did with my intake, so I dont think that statement is totally true. If you do add a header with an aftermarket exhaust, you will notice a very nice gain.

Exhaust sure will make a difference. It depends what exhaust you are getting. Most of the exhaust which provide good gains are single outlet and I never see a dual can make more power than the single.

Exhausts have potential to offer gains, but most cheap ones will just hurt your performance. The problem is, for most people, is they have to spend over a grand to get a decent, horsepower adding exhaust.

If you're looking for the power but dont want to front the dough, Spugen makes an exhaust setup that'll give you spoonmugen (heh) gains, at less than half the price. I got mine in a group buy for 400 bucks for both units. You wont be disappointed!!!

BTW, Intake and exhaust are a great combo, go for the AEM though, everything else is junk.

Actually if you did want to do the Spugen exhaust, and wanted dual still, their dual puts out 2 more WHP than the single I believe. Something to look into there. I have the Spoon N1, and absolutely love it, very deep sound, nice power gain. I have heard the Spugen in person as well, and I think they sound just as good.
