I just popped in a new MAP from NAPA and it didn't fix the problem...I can only hit 97% load...the car is still lean and will not accelerate properly. At this point I've had it with this f.ucking car. I'm gonna hit the interstate, set the cruise, and limp her home. At least I have an inverter with me now so I can keep an eye on things and at least tune the pills that I can cruise in to a half assed decent AFR.

have you checked your oil to see if it's looks like milk chocolate? hard to beleive you had a ton of water in your gas tank from a fill up.

typically, too much water in the gas causes the car to spit and sputter.

i think the ITB's sucked in some water and your top end is toast. remember they say it takes less than a cup of water to hydrolock our cars.

hopefully this is not the case but sure does sound like it. try a compression test to confirm.

Have you checked your air filter? It won't pass high velocity air (high rpm) if it is saturated with water. So it will idle ok but choke itself out when the demand for air is mandated. If it is paper, it will never function 100% again, replace it. If it is foam, wash it, fully dry, reoil & good as new.

Remember, water doesn't compress so you run a risk of blowing your head gasket or bending a rod if you have water in your gas. Gas line antifreeze will evaporate the water in your gas tank! Most likely, your sucking in water droplets from your air intake.
Good luck.

Ok, made it home, had to tune the car while driving back...

Each fill up on the trip home made the car run better and better, and after I put in the 2nd full tank after the tank of bad gas, the car seems to be about back to normal. My fuel map is all over the place now, so I'm gonna reload my last good map and see how she reacts to it. I'm about 99.95% positive I had a significant amount of water in my gas fill up from Adel, GA.

The engine load gets back to 100% now, but my knock goes to 2v above the VTEC engagement point, so I may need to revisit my timing map. I'm going to take the new MAP sensor back to NAPA, since it made no difference whatsoever in the troubleshooting of what possibly went wrong. The exhaust stream is back to normal, no more steam aside from the warm-up condensation that's normal, and no more steam pours out of the ITB's when the car is shut off.

I've driven thru rainstorms much, much worse than I encountered on the trip up (even drove thru a nasty one coming home last night) and never once had a problem...there's just no physical way for rainwater to get sucked into my ITB's based on their location, that I'm positive about. It had to be water in the gas.

A note to everyone on the board....never, ever, ever fill up with 93 at the Citgo in Adel, GA (exit 39 on I-75). I thought the gas station looked shady when I pulled up to it, but was about on fumes and had no choice. I'll stop in Valdosta from now on, that's for damned sure.

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions, even those of you that told me to pull the head

You may want to check and make sure you do not have a outside leak into your fuel cell just to be safe....

I find it funny that you found water in your gas in GEORGIA!

That's where all that water went...
