I am replacing my head and (some of you know where this is headed) and I had to pull off my cam idler pulley again. I know to make extra sure that the washer does not fall, I thought I was being extra carefull, well somehow the front washer fell through my fingers and down she went..

So... can I just pull my oilpan or do I have to full my cam chain cover..? please tell me its only the oil pan...

 

oil pan if you're lucky, cam chain cover if you're not.

IMO, people make way too big a deal about the crank pulley...with the right tools it's easy.

 

Well I have a vortech installed so taking off the crank and chain cover requires removing alot of mounting brackets as well. About all of them actually, so not an ideal situation.

 

Get a telescopic magnet and fish for it.

 

As obvious as that is, I didn't think of that. Thanks..
