Idle acting funny...
I installed a CAI about 4 months ago, and ever since, my engine's idle is always acting wierd... I thought about what steps i forgot to do in the CAI install that would have caused this, and I figured that it's probably the bypass valve that i forgot to put on one of the new vacuum lines.... am i right? wouldn't this cause my car to idle low and sometimes stall?
p.s., does anyone have a link of pictures as to where to install this one-way bypass valve?

You didn't mention which CAI you're using.
If the idle is acting weird, stop the engine and reset the ECU. (do a search to find out which fuse to remove)
If the idle is still bad, check your MAP sensor (do a seach on this to find out what to do)

Here's the routing of the vaccum lines and the orientation of that check valve:

I think that you would get a CEL if there was something critically wrong. Leaving the check valve off entirely may not throw a CEL but putting it on backwards will. Put the check valve back on and see if the idle resolves itself. If not, it could also be your idle air control valve that has coincidentally gone bad.

hmm.. well my 'check engine' light is on, and i think the idle has something to do with it... the CAI that im using is identical to an AEM, but it's generic... i've tried pulling that fuse already and resetting the ECU in the past, but it didnt solve anything... thanks for your help, i'll try putting the valve on first...

i think i found the problem.. one of my vacuum lines had a hole in it, and the others didn't look like they were in good shape either... i replaced all of them today, and i also replaced the PVC valve, hoping to fix my MPG problem... thanks
