AEM Bypass Valve for my CAI

Hydrolocked my engine, busted a piston, thats not the point of this topic, i got a Bypass Valve and am going to install it today.

But i was wondering does anyone know if it effects the power or air flow to ITM??

Also anyone seen a nice DIY i can refer to rather than printed instructions without pictures.

I have read multiple times that it basically negates any power gains you would have gotten from the CAI.

Hard to believe since its reduced temperature compared to the engine bay and only opens up when pressure of water if placed upon the valve, not just air.
