Talking Ignition coil preferences

Does anyone out there in S2K land have any experience with different ignition coils? I believe the Denso's are OEM, but I've seen Delphi's for half the price which makes me think......does 1/2 the cost mean 1/2 as good? The way I'm thinking is ... if I'm going to replace my ignition coils (1 is bad and I have 100K on the others, so it's probably best to do them all) get something that will do the job, but if I can do the job for less, that's OK too. Same for the plugs, I'll change them too. I believe NGK are stock....any experience with other plugs that are BETTER?

Thanks to all that can help.

Re: coil packs, stick to OEM only. You didn't specify your year, but if you have an AP1:
2004-2005 coil packs also work for 2000-2003 cars. The 2004-2005 coil pack is also 50% cheaper than the 2000-2003 coil packs at around $40-50/each.

Pro-tip: If you go to Autozone and open the box of their 2004-2005 coil pack, IF it has a "Denso" or "Made in Japan" sticker on the bottom, it's 100% OEM. I found about 50/50 of the coil packs at Autozone were OEM, so I picked the ones I wanted (obviously the made in Japan).

Sorry it is a 2002. I don't know if that's AP1 or APS. the Denso's I'm seeing all over the web are $80 each! That's hurts. Delphi's are $40 each.
I can check out my local Autozone to see if they even have them Normally they have to special order in stuff like this, but it's worth a try.
Thank you for your post.

There is an AP1 F20C engine in your 2002 S2000 assuming it's stock.

Yes everything is stock 2002 except for the cold air intake. I have of of those aluminum tube intakes, but all else is stock.

Honda uses the same OEM coil packs for multiple vehicles. I recall some Acura coils are the same as some S2000. Check the part numbers. I think the OEM parts retail for just under $100 -- each!

Back to my post -- Autozone will have the 2004-2005 model year coils, that will fit perfectly in your AP2, for $40-50/each. If they have to "order" them from another store, it can be a free inter-store request/transfer -- I asked them to get 8, and I was able to pick and choose the 4 "Made in Japan" Denso ones out of the 8.

Hey Harry,
I went to Rock Auto online, and checked out about 20 other online auto parts places including Honda Cheap Parts, Parts Geek and Rock was the cheapest. You had to add $9.88 for shipping, but it was still less than the next closest seller... Parts Geek. ($44.33 each)
I paid $37.79 each for the 04 coils (#673-2301 Denso) which beat every other post I saw, so I felt like I got a real good deal. Plugs were only $8.47 each for NGK PFR7G-11S
I got out the door for $195.02 and feel like I robbed a bank. If everything works as it should, I'll be riding smooth like 'Butter' again next week. Thanks for all your input.

The f22c and k20z3 coil packs share the same denso part #. There shouldn't be any difference.

What I do find surprising is that even though a lot of Honda coil packs can be shared and OEM manufactures like Denso know this, then why does Denso produce a coilpack with a different part # for the F20C? Is there an actual difference between AP1 and AP2 coils internally?
