my immobilizer signal keeps flashing. i tried a new ecu and i had it flashed with my key and it works but the immobilizer signal still comes on randomly and somtimes stays on for a few seconds at a time. so its not my key and its not my ecu. how do i replace the black box in the steering column? can i just replace that one piece in the system?

 

All three parts of the system, make the whole system. The Key, Reciver and ECU. I assume you are still under warranty? Make it the dealer's problem. But if you have to replace it, it sells for 60 (list price). There are two screws holding it in place. Remove them and swap it out. It is not really hard, just cramped.

I think you need to get the ECU recoded for the keys.

I have swapped it before and I needed to use the old one until the dealer recoded my car.

 

Mine does the same thing. Every once in a while the light flashes under hard acceleration right @ VTEC. Goes out in a couple seconds and the car starts and runs fine.

Not sure if I want to go to the dealer with an ECU harness tapped with the Comptech ESM. I'm sure it will be nothing but questions and problems.....

 

do they have to look at the ecu? cause i have had vafc tapped before i don't think they need to see the ecu to reflash the reciever do they?

 

See it no, they plug into the ODBII port and program it.
