Immobilizer: fix / bypass options?

Default Immobilizer: fix / bypass options?

When powering off after parking I noticed my cluster flashed a green key-shaped light. The next time I tried to start, no joy. Tried all of my keys including valet and it's the same, immobilizer light flashes.

I have searched and didn't find fixes but was hoping there was a chance this could be fixed / replaced affordably or even bypassed? I asked a friend who works at the dealer and he said it can't be bypassed, but for all I know he was speaking from his on-the-clock advisor role rather than as a sympathetic friend.

Thankfully the car is only used occasionally but it sure would be nice to get it going again before actual freezing temps any advice?

Sounds like you're trying to take someone's car. Because a key isn't going to just stop working.

Flatbed to Honda, they will need to use the HDS to check the status of the “reader”. Sounds like the reader is not working.
