Default Injen CAI install ???'s

Is there any cutting of the car to install? I have heard of & seen pics of the AEM unit that required cutting of the under body protective panels.

Is $285 a fair price for the Injen unit?

Did you install yourself? If so on a 1-10 scale rate the difficulty.

Did you install a bypass?

If so why?

If not why not?

Thanks!!!

Yes, you need to cut plastic in the wheel well area. You may also want to cut out some of the plastic ducting in front and/or the fake brake ducts. The cutting is easy and difficult to see (unless you cut the brake ducts, then you can put buy a grill cover for it to hide the cutting).

Too high. Talk to Ben at Bulletproof (a site sponsor) for a better price.

I installed my AEM (same as the Injen, but two piece). It was all easy except knowing how to hook up the last 4 hoses, which took me a little thinking. I would rate it a 6 because it stressed me out and because it will be difficult to reinstall the stock airbox since I didn't take pictures of the connections.

No bypass. It seems pretty silly to me since I don't intend to drive through water 18 inches deep, but some people are really worried so make your own decision.

Yeah, I had a chance to help a friend of mine put back his stock air box. By helping, I mean I just showed up with my car so he could see how all the hoses were connected.

Oh yup, I remember I was supposed to help...but I slept like a pig..!!
wahahahaha..!! well, the old INJEN is HAI, not the CAI, even if he doesn't wanna sell the car... I think he will still want to change it back..!! However, the new INJEN CAI sounds like a good one..!! It is just I have the AEM CAI already... don't wanna waste money to try another one that is almost the same..
