So according to billmans post.

40mm bolt - 15mm mount = bolt extending into block by 25mm which is therefore deemed as being safe.

I assume

Oh I didn't read that they were not torqued down. In that case you may be ok. From reading Billmans post it seems that 40mm=certain death, it is odd you measure different.

From reading the death thread it seems that the bolt had gone through the block. As mine havent touched the block I figure it will be ok.

Will find out when I get rod knock!.

Im no discrediting Billman, never would. My job is oriented around measuring accurately I would bet my life on my dimensions.

Im guessing there is a difference between billet and steel mount thickness, therefore as said previously the billet thickness may have saved my engine.

Also worth noting that the death thread engine was ran for a while before failure and the mounts were steel.

Easy way to be 100% sure is to just pull the oil pan. And inspect the inside of the block/girdle.

I can tell you I am not sure I would have thought about something like that happening till this thread. It increased my awareness when threading anything into anything now, lol

Yea never thought about it myself as i was installing them. Luckily mine had all the bolts, iirc. Innovative needs to throw an atttention grabbing paper in their boxes, at the least, warning of this.. No sense in people ruining engines over something so simple.

Just like I wish they wouldnt sell their 60a inserts knowing they're going to fail. But thats neither here nor there.

Despite all of this is Innovative the way to go for upgraded mounts? Do you guys notice a big difference or are you replacing failed OEM? How does one check for failed mounts? I have an 01 with 135k, never checked them, but have been making a list of things to refresh

I have been well and truly put of innovative now.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I have Spoon mounts on the way, these innovative mounts are being sold on, I want nothing to do with them.

Best way to check for a failed mount it to look for an orange liquid on or around the mount, also your motor will move a lot.

It depends on what you want I guess. The mounts work as they're supposed to. However, the softer 60a inserts sag after a short time so your only option is 75a or stiffer. With the 75a you get a bit of vibration at idle, anything stiffer is obviously going to be worse. If I could do it all over again I would probably just buy replacement OEM mounts.
