Default Installing After Market Clutch and Flywheel.

Im almost ready to install my CC Stage 4 Clutch Kit along with my ACT pro-lite flywheel. I have almost everything done and now I pretty much just need to unbolt the trans bolts and it should come out. Is there any advice you guys can give from experience? I just picked up high temp grease from Honda for the throw-out bearing and clutch spline. Is there anything else I really need to know? And my friend swears that the pressure plate and fly wheel need to be torque, I feel that is unnecessary but what do you guys think.

You need new flywheel bolts if do not already have them, and yes they have to tightened and torqued to specification.

You don't really need new flywheel bolts...

The bolts should absolutely be torqued properly, however I don't usually replace the bolts.

Do you really want to go thru all that trouble of dropping the trans should a bolt not have been torqued properly?

Does anyone know the torque specs for the fly wheel and pressure plate? And is there any specific order?

94 lb-ft for the flywheel and 19 lb-ft for the pressure plate. Tighten in multiple passes in a crisscross pattern.

I do validation for tissue digesters that they use in bio-medical testing. One time we had a tech close this 800lb door with these 55mm bolts, just went around in a circle and torqued all 20 bolts down to the specified 50ft lbs. After he finished, he just assumed they were all torqued properly and nearly 3 tons of a lye solution at 330 degrees Fahrenheit, and dissolved dead animals sprayed everywhere that the bolts where not properly secured. Had to use a Hazmat suit to clean up afterwards.

Point is there's a reason you tighten these bolts in steps and in a criss cross pattern. So that a all bolts are torqued evenly, and b so that the part is drawn to it's mating surface evenly as well. If you tighten a piece all the way carelessly you can warp the part and if it's not level the lever action you created against the threads will give you a false torque reading.

I just Installed my clutch today and I can say 100% that you should definitely torque your flywheel!! Pressure plate not as important but you might as well. Good luck for anyone trying this!

And I did reuse the flywheel and pressure plate bolts because they looked like they were in good condition. I also put some red lock-tight to be safe haha
